NEWS FROM THE ADIRONDACK REGION PORCELAIN ARTISTS

Spring is in bloom ,there is so much beauty to see.Fresh green mixed with lovely colors from Trees and Flowers. It makes Life feel good. Our club meeting takes place .First Tuesday of every month at the Halfmoon Senior Citizen Assoc.Inc.in Halfmoon N.Y. 12065 Halfmoon center is a great place to meet and offers so much more for many people that live in near community ,different programs are available. Our club keeps focus with projects in porcelain painting and sometimes in other fun stuff try out.

We had a good lesson in making greeting cards with Marie Dozois and it was a lot of fun. We also had our Summer picnic at the Dozois home in the garden.Pleasant memories of a sunny day under shady trees come to mind with lots of good people and food.

All of us make our meetings special by sharing and teaching the new and the old. Betty shared how to paint forget-me -nots.- Maryam showed us to create miniature portraits and we had lessons on light houses.- Helen shared her Hollyleaves and berries.

And there are the seminars. Jane Kozlak taught us how to paint vegetables in a basket on tile.It was a real challenge with beautiful results. We also had a seminar with Gerry Burchill . Blackberry and wild roses on platter. It is always fun with Gerry. Two of our seminars where held at Betty Pullis in Richfield Spring N.Y. We had Marci Blattenberg with showing and teaching different painting techniques. Some real interesting work. And Portraits with Marty Hill. This seminar proved to be real special to some of our artists. There are stunning results to see. Nancy Naim came up with a clever idea of writing and painting recipe on tile .We sold them at our Hollyberry Luncheon last year .

We also display our painted china pieces at the Clifton Halfmoon library during Spring and Summer We had a seminar at Audrey McCullough s house painting on glass, with Sharon Roberts Karl. Cards-Cards-Cards- We got to sell them and buy them .Audrey McCullough is making new ones again and she spends a lot of time to get them out for sale. Remember its for the NYSWOCP. And we have a new basket that Audrey made from material made in the USA,looking to fill it with our motto in mind. You know what our motto is. Our Hollyberry luncheon is our fund raising event every November This Year its on the 5th . A lot of time and love for the porcelain art flow into the pieces of china that we paint on, for this special day. We know it will be another good event. by Irma Thiessen
