Maryam Blankenship featured as Guest Artist at VAWOCP Show

Our NYSWOCP members are are sought-after artists and teachers, and you will find them featured at state shows, seminars, national and international events. This spring, Adirondack Porcelain artist member, and teacher, Maryam Blankenship was featured as guest artist at Virginia's "Artistry on Porcelain" show. The 4 clubs who make up the Virginia WOCP pulled together a wonderful show at the P.Buckley Moss museum. Maryam provided a detailed seminar, exhibit, and demonstration of her techniques for painting miniatures.

In addition to Maryam, NY artists and teachers Mary Gosden and Joyce Stewart also provided demonstrations and offered their paintings and supplies for sale in their booth. I also had the opportunity to offer our NYSWOCP greeting cards for sale in my booth at the VAWOCP show. I would like to thank all the wonderful members of VAWOCP for their support of NYSWOCP and our member artists, teachers, and suppliers.

2010 NYSWOCP Convention Scrapbook

2010 Best of Show Artist-Mary Gosden

"Please Experiment! You never know where an idea can lead!". These are words of advise from 2010 Best-of-Show winner, Mary Gosden. Mary was awarded this honor at the New York State World Organization of China Painters Exhibit and Convention in September 2010. Mary is a member and president of the Island Porcelain Artist club, and owner of Mary Gosden Studios. She teaches regularly at her studio on Long Island, and conducts travel seminars for groups across the US.

Mary loves the Statue of Liberty. She says, " The crown, with it's sunrays, is a perfect design for my art deco obsession to feed off of!".
